Clinical Intelligence

This interdisciplinary research group aims to create a comprehensive digital solution for the continuum of care for surgical patients.

The goal is to create an artificial intelligence algorithm for optimizing patient flow without compromising patient safety. Clinical intelligence follows the patient from the general practitioner to hospital treatment and municipal rehabilitation. A central goal is to place the patient at the center of communication between the actors in the process. It can be relatives, general practitioner, physiotherapist, home nurse, social worker and medical staff at hospital. The patients will be monitored by sensor-based technology at home, and the patient's own registrations are minimized.

Sensor Technology

We are working to individualize patient treatment. The team is working on technologies that will be able to record heart rate, temperature, mobilization, joint mobility, sleep and signs of infection via activity trackers, digital patches and thermography. Data collection will predict when rehabilitation fails or if there are any complications to the surgery such as infection.
