I have always had a deep nerdy interest for technology, computers, sci-fi and fantastical futures with incredible promises.
So as I am currently working in a field of research using novel techniques, new technology, artificial intelligence and corrective surgery I feel right at home.
Current screening for hip dysplasia in Denmark is lacking which leads to cases of residual dysplasia of the hip that could have been avoided. Deciding which of these patients to operate on in order to prevent persisting residual dysplasia is a difficult task with no real consensus as to which factors provide a clear prognosis of the disease.
My PhD focuses on screening of developmental dysplasia of the hip, reviewing current screening practices both nationally and internationally and investigating what we can do to improve screening for this condition.
Secondly it seeks to provide a better understanding of the factors that lead to persisting residual dysplasia of the hip using artificial intelligence assisted analysis of large scale datasets.
