Rasmus Stokholm

Rasmus Stokholm is an orthopaedic trauma surgeon. He is currently PhD fellow at the Orthopaedic Trauma Research unit. The purpose of the PhD study is to compare standard intramedullary nailing with an external ring fixator for patients with isolated tibial shaft fractures. The project is funded by the Independent Research Found Denmark. Supervisors of the PhD project are Rasmus Elsoe and Peter Larsen.

My main area of interest is the development of high quality, evidence-based treatment of orthopaedic trauma patients. With the opportunity to investigate tibial fractures I hope to contribute to the understanding of mechanisms influencing patient outcome following tibial shaft fracture. I hope to be able to be part of an ongoing effort to improve the outcome following tibial shaft fracture.
