Når du skal have en blodtransfusion
Du skal have foretaget en blodtransfusion, hvor du får indgivet blod fra en sund og rask donor.
Donorblod inddeles i forskellige komponenter, som anvendes til forskellige formål. Alt blod kommer fra frivillige danske bloddonorer.
Alt donorblod bliver testet for virus, der kan forårsage leverbetændelse type B og type C, og for HIV, der kan forårsage AIDS. Risikoen for at blive smittet med leverbetændelse eller HIV er meget lille – cirka 1 tilfælde hvert 50. år.
Der er en risiko for en allergisk reaktion, når du skal behandles med en blodtransfusion, men dette sker kun meget sjældent.
Du skal være opmærksom på symptomer under og umiddelbart efter blodtransfusionen. Giv besked til personalet, hvis du oplever nogle af dissesymptomer:
Symptomerne kan skyldes, at blodlegemerne bliver ødelagt af antistoffer, eller at du er blevet smittet ved blodtransfusionen.
