The Research Unit of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery and Audiology at Aalborg University Hospital

The research field within Otorhinolaryngology (ORL), Head & Neck Surgery and Audiology is comprehensive and diverse. It covers all subspecialities in its clinical and basic research including areas such as head and neck surgery, laryngology, rhinology, audiology, and vestibulogy. To support the continuous expansion of our research community, we have defined goals and strategies for future clinical research in ORL, Head & Neck Surgery and Audiology at Aalborg University Hospital. 

We wish to:

• Professionalize ORL research and involve all employees in research conducted in the unit
• Perform international level research within specific fields of ORL
• Disseminate research in all ORL fields nationally

To accomplish these goals, we aim to create the best possible circumstances to communicate our vision to our colleges and our community, to nourish our well-established collaborations and expand our network even further, to invite and encourage all employees to contribute to clinical research, and to create a sense of ownership within our department of the research performed in our unit.
These strategies will provide the foundation for maintaining high quality clinical research and standards for treatment within the fields of ORL, Head & Neck Surgery and Audiology as well as clear the way for more innovative treatments in the future.
