Marcella Broccia

Marcella Broccia is a medical doctor in paediatric specialist training and researcher. Her research focus on lifestyle during pregnancy, child maltreatment, and health inequality which aims to improve health among vulnerable children. Marcella Broccia has a particular interest in the effects of early life exposure to alcohol, substances, and medication on the health and survival of newborns, children and adolescents. Furthermore, she has conducted studies investigating COVID-19. Her research is based on large-scale data using Danish nationwide registries.

Marcella Broccia is active in expert boards within the field of prenatal alcohol and substance exposures at The National Board of Social Services and The Nordic Welfare Center. Finally, she is supervisor for bachelor and PhD students.Marcella Broccia works in collaboration with the Cardiovascular Real World Evidence Research Group, Nordsjaellands Hospital, and the Section of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the Department of Public Health, Copenhagen University.
