Grant of 6 mill. DKK recieved from Novo Nordisk Foundation

A new research project from Interdisciplinary Orthopaedics, Aalborg University Hospital has just recieved a grant of 6 mill. DKK from the Novo Nordisk Foundation to establish shared digital communication between professionals and caregivers of children with severe physical disabilities The use of a team-based digital communication solution has been tested between patients, hospital and municipal staff during the last two years.

This new project aims to adapt the solution to the the context of caregivers of children with physical disabilities to hopefully ease the communicative burden. Today, caregivers are the communicative link between the child’s countless contacts, and this adds to the massive burden on caregivers. By connecting professionals across disciplines from the health, social and school systems with caregivers in a messenger-like solution, this project creates the foundation for optimized communication, collaboration and coherence.
