DFF grant received

Interdisciplinary Orthopaedics, Aalborg Univeristy Hospital has received a grant of 2.038.399 DKK from Independent Research Fund Denmark to examine the effects of rigid nailing for fracture treatment in children. Rigid nailing is an effective way to stabilize a fracture and the technique is safe for adolescent. Howver, its impact on the growth of younger children is not well understood.

The study aims to fill this gap in knowledge and is also supported with a research grant for the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society.

Maria Tirta will be the PhD student on the interdisciplinary project working alongside Clinical Professors Søren Kold and Ole Rahbek from Aalborg University Hospital and Professor John Rasmussen from Aalborg University.
