50.000 dkr. Research Grant from Speciallæge Heinrich Kopps Legat

MD, Ph.d. Stud. Marie Fridberg, has recieved 50.000 Dkr from the foundation Speciallæge Heinrich Kopps Legat to finance the purchase of an Infrared camera for the study Home Based monitoring With Thermography for detection of postoperative infection. The support makes it possible to start inclusion of patients and data collection at Aalborg University Hospital, Denmark and Nationwide Childrens Hospital, Ohio, USA simultaneously.
The Thermography studies will investigate how we can detect and monitor early signs of infection, before the patient develop symptoms and how we use the discipline of thermography evidence based in clinical practice. The aim is to improve postsurgical care for patients and avoid surgical complications.
