Can Machine-learning Algorithms Predict Early Revision TKA in the Danish Knee Arthroplasty Registry?

Our latest study is now available ahead of print in Clinical Orthopedics and Related Research. Together with colleagues from Walter Reed and Johns Hopkins, we aimed to generate a clinical decision tool capable of predicting the risk of early TKA-revision before surgery. Although, the final model wasn’t clinical useful, our work highlighted several challenges in the future of predictive modelling in arthroplasty surgery. These challenges are also discussed in the well-written CORR insight by dr. Fontana, which complement the study.
