Research Symposium 2023

A new approach

This year, we experimented with a new format for our research symposium. Instead of having the usual presentations and posters, we divided the participants into two groups: senior and junior. The senior group consisted of experienced doctors and researchers who discussed the current and future directions of our research and funding opportunities. The junior group consisted of young researchers who had a chance to interact with young doctors in a "speed dating" style. They briefly introduced their projects, answered questions, and shared their insights on doing research in our department.

The feedback from both groups was overwhelmingly positive. The researchers appreciated the opportunity to showcase their work and the doctors enjoyed learning about new developments and perspectives in medical research. Several participants expressed interest in continuing the conversation and collaborating on future projects. We believe that this format was a great way to stimulate creativity and innovation among our junior staff, and we hope to repeat it in future symposia.

- "It was inspiring to hear about all the diverse research activities going on in the department. The meeting of junior researchers and doctors was especially great and was able to dsipel a lot of misconceptions aboput beginning a career as a medical researcher."
