The Independent Research Fund Denmark grants 2.035.000 DKK to prevent undiagnosed childhood hip dysplasia

The interdisciplinary project “Developing a national universal screening program for developmental dysplasia of the hip” has been awarded a research grant of 2.0M DKK by the Independent Research Fund Denmark. The project originates from Danish Paediatric Orthopaedic Research and is a collaboration between Aalborg University Hospital and Aarhus University Hospital.

The grant will go towards implementing a novel clinical research project focusing on universal ultrasound screening of Danish children using innovative ultrasound measurements. We expect this project to be a game changer in the field of hip dysplasia screening and, if successful, show the way towards a nationally standardized, cost-effective universal ultrasound screening programme for hip dysplasia.
