I am a final year medical student who plans of pursuing a career in orthopedic surgery.
The last two years I have been working, alongside my studies, as a pre-graduate research fellow assisting multiple orthopedic Ph.D. students in their projects.
Currently I am working as a pre-graduate research fellow at the department of Orthopedic surgery, Aalborg University Hospital, where I am conducting a pilot study focused on electrical impedance in rabbit bone fractures. As non-union fractures are a huge expense for an orthopedic department, our hope is to be able to develop a sensor that quantitatively measures bone healing to be able to intervene before a non-union can occur. After the summer, I will be continuing this research as my graduate thesis.
